We have an opportunity for Phlebotomist to join their team of staff.

This is a Part time role for 16 hours a week. Part time hours are also available. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.


Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience working as a phlebotomist in a hospital or GP setting.
  • Experience with sample processing desirable
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Previous experience in a clinical environment/ medical laboratory
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience desirable
  • Good organisational skills
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems
  • Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting

Duties of this role include:


  • To provide an effective and efficient Phlebotomy services to all areas of the hospital in accordance with agreed operational policies and procedures as a skilled member of the clinical team.
  • Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
  • Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.
  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
  • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience
