Contracts Manager (Grouting)

Location:
Leeds, West Yorkshire


Salary:
£40k - £47k + Pension, + Private Medical Cover + Life Assurance + Share Scheme +25 days holiday (increasing with service) plus the option to purchase more via salary sacrifice.

Our client is a leading contractor in geotechnical, foundation and underground engineering, providing solutions for the civil engineering and construction industry.

The company has a proven capability in all elements of ground investigation and stabilisation.
With comprehensive in-house resources, this highly successful business is a major provider of: Ground Stabilisation, Drilling and Grouting, Site Investigation, Specialist Drilling, Environmental Engineering, Laboratory Testing, Technical Advice, In Situ Testingand Monitoring


To realise aspirations for site development the company offer a complete package from desk study to foundation design and site remediation proposals.


The Role:


The company are expanding their busy Grouting Operations team, and are looking for a
Contracts Manager to join them, working on a range of projects.

Main Purpose of Job:


  • To manage day to day operational control of multiple and/or medium to large contracts within the region, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, cost control, performance to programme and customer service.
  • To maintain commercial awareness ensuring the Company is not exposed financially and to achievement of full margins from operational activities.
  • To manage contracts such that they perform in line with budget and to maintain a motivated, effective and safety conscious workforce.
  • To ensure good client relations and that client's requirements are met, to maximise opportunity for repeat business.

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • Significant experience within the geotechnical industry with solid understanding of ground conditions, Drilling and Site Investigation works
  • Good understanding of geotechnical processes and contract management.
  • Commercial knowledge and experience/level of contractual awareness.
  • Ability to comprehend current and anticipate future problems of both a construction and commercial nature.
  • Excellent understanding of written English and good standard of letter writing.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft office, database maintenance and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and with own initiative, as judgements and decisions taken on a daily basis for both simple and complex tasks.
  • Ability to delegate tasks, in order to prioritise workload and progress contracts.
  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and members of the regional team.
  • Good customerservice focus and a professional approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:


  • Civil Engineering / Geology related Degree or equivalent qualification.

The roles will be primarily site based across the UK, with some time spent from the Leeds Office.
