An opportunity has arisen for motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team.

Committed to providing an efficient and effective front-line service in our reception based at Oakwood, St Mary's Hospital in Kettering.


Week 1:
Monday, Thursday & Friday 12:30-17:00. Tuesday & Wednesday 08:00-13:00


Week 2:
Monday, Thursday & Friday 8:00-13:00. Tuesday & Wednesday 12:30-17:00

The successful applicants must be reliable, able to work flexibly and be committed to providing a quality service.

A professional telephone manner and good organisational and communication skills are essential; previous switchboard experience would be an advantage although full training will be provided.


  • To provide a quality and professional 'front of house' reception service to staff and visitors attending the hospital.
  • Answer incoming calls quickly and politely.
  • Contact doctors and other members of staff as required.
  • Support clinicians on booking in appointments on system one as applicable.
  • Welcome visitors and staff at reception and assist with any queries.
  • Ensure that the oncall book and duty rotas are kept up to date and amended as changes occur if applicable.
  • Respond immediately to all emergency/intruder alarms and emergencies and carry out the prescribed procedure quickly.
  • Maintain the diary including the booking of meeting rooms where appropriate.
  • Operate the Trust Facilities Help Desk and PFI (Kiers/Robertsons) helpdesk when required.
  • Sort internal and external mail as required.
