About Us:

Get Chelsea and Kensington talking like never before
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of everything we do. Key to this is the work of our Consultation and Participation experts. They ensure residents, businesses and other end-users drive the evolution of our services. Because the more we talk together, the better life across the Borough will be.

The Role:

This is a new role, reporting directly to our Director for Communities.

So there will be lots of scope to build out your responsibilities and methods as you strengthen the links with our communities.

In principle, everything is focused on helping residents and communities play their role in our services' design and delivery.

With a sizeable team in support, you will broaden our activities across the board: developing our Youth Participation strategy and consultation and engagement work, the delivery of our Citizens' Panel, and a wide body of work around Grenfell.

It is a diverse, cross-cutting challenge that calls for strong ties with regional and national agencies.

Relationships with senior Council leaders and elected Members will be critical too:
they will see you as a key ally both within the Council and with external stakeholders. An authority on the direction of their workstreams.

This is a part-time job share of 2.5 days per week (18 hours).

About You:

With a background in strategy and used to shaping large organisations, you will have the gravitas to quickly inspire confidence with everyone you meet here.

Sensitive, resilient and persistent, your experience of leading change will also be a crucial factor to delivering clear results on the ground.

As well as being commercially and politically astute, a creative approach will be key. It is also vital you understand the drivers and responses to our approach, post Grenfell.

In addition to a competitive salary and generous annual leave, you can look forward to joining a Council that puts you first.

Supportive, friendly and open-minded, we take pride in providing training and learning opportunities to strengthen your already-impressive skills. Not to mention career opportunities that will help you cement your reputation in the industry.
