1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Taking and recording blood pressure and pulse rate Venepuncture Samples e.g.

urinalysis, swabs etc Act as chaperone for GPs and assist with minor surgery and clinical procedures Maintain general housekeeping and stocking for all treatment and consulting rooms Any other clinical duties within your remit that you are required to undertake either on a temporary or permanent basis after the appropriate training is provided.

2.ADMINSTRATIVE AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team Ensure accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients computerised medical record Ensure accurate completion of necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice Attend and participate in all practice meetings as required To undertake all administrative procedures relating to the post, liaising with the Lead Nurse/ Operations Manager/ Managing Partner.

To co-operate and participate in the collection of statistics for audit projects.

  • SUPERVISION RECEIVED The postholder will be operationally line managed by the Lead Nurse 4. SUPERVISION EXERCISED The postholder has no day to day line management responsibility and does not directly manage any members of staff. 5.


KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Develop and maintain key working relationships with: Practice GPs, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedic Practitioners and HCAs Patients and Carers Practice Management, Reception and other Administrative staff Community Nurses and other allied health professionals Community Pharmacists and support staff Social prescribing link workers Voluntary sector colleagues 6.

CONFIDENTIALITY Under the Data Protection Act 2018 (alongside the EU General Data Protection Regulations) the postholder must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients and staff.

The work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty.

Unauthorised disclosure of confidential information may result in disciplinary action and may lead to your dismissal.

SAFEGUARDING To be fully aware of and understand the duties and responsibilities arising from the Childrens Act 2004 and Working Together in relation to child protection and safeguarding children and young people as this applies to the workers role within the organisation.
