    We're looking for an Optical Test Engineer to join our Snap Lab team at Snap Inc.

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Perform detailed optical measurements of waveguides used in AR applications, ensuring they meet stringent quality and performance standards.
    2. Set up, align, and calibrate optical test equipment, ensuring accurate configuration and optimization for measuring waveguide performance.
    3. Lead acceptance testing processes, validating optical specifications and quality standards, and establishing testing protocols for various stages of development.
    4. Implement process control techniques to ensure production consistency, analyzing metrology data to identify trends, variances, and correlations to performance metrics.
    5. Analyze measurement data, correlating results to key performance indicators (KPIs), and produce comprehensive reports with actionable insights.
    6. Transfer latest waveguide test techniques and methods from R&D to mass production, ensuring scalability and repeatability.
    7. Investigate discrepancies in test results, implementing corrective actions, and working with optical engineers to optimize testing processes and improve waveguide performance.
    8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for performance enhancement, proposing and implementing improvements in metrology techniques and testing procedures.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in optical testing, with a focus on waveguides or similar optical components.
    • Proficiency in statistical data analysis using JMP or Minitab.
    • Familiarity with process control, quality control, and acceptance testing in high-volume manufacturing environments.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in optical testing of AR/VR/MR systems.
    • Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping of jigs and fixtures.
    • Experience in test automation using LabView, Matlab, or Python.
