MLC is proud to be partnered with The Royal Parks in its search campaign for several newly created business critical finance positions.

The Royal Parks charity was formed in March 2017 and manages over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London.

The eight Royal Parks are among the most visited attractions in theUK with 77 million visits every year and growing.

The charity is commercially focused and complex, with a large proportion of its income generated from events, catering, leisure and other licence agreements.

The Assistant Accountant is a new position, representing the investment drive into the finance team.

It will play an important role supporting the Financial Accountant and wider team through this period of growth and development.

As an additional role inthe team, it provides the opportunity to put your stamp on things and develop personally, growing your finance experience in a supportive environment.

Main responsibilities include:

Support delivery of monthend and yearend accounts, attending audit meetings and taking ownership of some areas.
Update the fixed asset and grant registers ensuring they are accurately maintained on a regular basis.
Assist with VAT queries and compiling the VAT return as well as uploading journals into the finance system.
Help with the transfer of financial data into the new finance system, working to update and improve policies during this process.

This position comes with an extensive study support package and would suit someone ambitious who is looking to develop their accounting career.

Have some experience working in a finance team, whether as a job or as part of a university placement.
Demonstrate an understanding of double entry bookkeeping and accounting processes.
