We are currently recruiting for a Franchise Ancillary Range & Display Planner to join the M&S team

Key Accountabilities and Measures

  • To ensure the right products are ranged and merchandised to the right ancillary space, in the right stores within agreed timelines through effective project management
  • To provide a commercial, customer and supply perspective to range and display principles whilst ensuring customer needs are met
  • Deliver range and display that makes product areas easy for customers to shop, drive volume sales, margin and support efficient replenishment
  • Work collaboratively with partners and internal stakeholders on Ambient seasonal ranges across Ambient Celebration & Confectionery in core and ancillary displays within agreed timelines
  • Collaboratively work with partners and internal stakeholders on allyearround ancillary range & display
Ancillary Range & Display

  • Lead on SRD Ancillary Space trade planning display and ranging ensuring all ancillary space is ranged to commercial requirement, whilst delivering for our customer needs.
  • Support Space Planning team on achieving 100% ancillary space accuracy by working with Franchise Partners
  • Key SRD contact on ancillary / trade planning linking commercial, SRD, supply and marketing teams
  • Maintain and continuously review ancillary space performance, using data to provide recommendations for future use of ancillary space.
Category Ranging

  • Responsible for several categories in Franchise; owning and communicating the ranging strategy for those categories, driving performance through effective utilisation of range to reflect customer mission and seasonality, delivering ranging within critical path.
  • With the Commercial Managers, driving franchise partner performance whilst managing each partner's requirements e.g. BP contract, CQUIN & HRS (health legislation for Hospitals).
  • Achieve range targets, ensuring we optimise sales & operations efficiency: Customer need states met, ease of shop, operations, supply, waste and product margins
  • Coordinate across SRD, categories, partners, supply and Retail teams to create and deliver category action plans.
  • Provide range related performance management information, at varying levels of granularity, including: Stocking point and planogram level helping identify further opportunity for range enhancements
Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with the Franchise Commercial Managers to lead & drive consistency across ranging principles, data analysis and communication & engagement
  • Engage with Franchise Supply Chain team on range changes within requirements of the agreed critical path
  • Hold Display team accountable to maximising and measuring micro space opportunities of core category ranges
  • Inform and update Franchise Partners of ongoing range activity affecting their stores, and incorporating their feedback as part of the planning process
  • Engage with Retail teams and Heads of Retail to ensure SRD strategy is being implemented in stores, and franchise partner feedback is being incorporated as part of the planning process
Key Skills

  • Excellent project management with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Proactivity and solution driven
  • Excellent ranging analysis, interpretation and problemsolving skill
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  • Knowledge of the Space Range, Display, NPD, Supply Chain and Procurement processes and critical paths
  • JDA
