My client is a renowned international commercial law firm, with offices across the globe.

With more than 950 dedicated professionals, including 200 partners and legal directors, they provide top-notch legal advice and strategic guidance.


Their Healthcare Commercial & Regulatory department in Leeds is expanding rapidly, and they're seeking an Associate with 0-6 years PQE or equivalent to be part of their success story.

As an Associate, you'll have the chance to work on a diverse range of health commercial, governance, and regulatory matters for the NHS and private sector organizations in the health and social care sector.

Responsibilities of the role include:
Supporting the wider team on commercial and procurement work on a broad range of day to day matters for NHS and independent sector clients
Drafting contractual terms and conditions including innovative contracting models including joint ventures, alliance agreements and collaboration arrangements
Assisting with NHS mergers and acquisitions
Advising on public procurement processes and procurement documentation
Advising healthtech providers (including NHS organisations and private providers) on commercial and regulatory issues including data protection law
Supporting business development strategies of the team and wider business group and presenting as the face of the firm to clients and intermediaries
Working with the wider office team to proactively promote and raise the profile of the firm, including attending networking events and participating in corporate social responsibility initiatives Developing your own relationships with clients / intermediaries

Essential skills for the successful Associate will include:
Law degree (or equivalent)
Proven experience of advising in commercial law, ideally within the health sector but other relevant experience will be considered
Excellent communication, organisation and research skills
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrable ability to manage competing demands, achieving strict client deadlines
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and develop relationships within the wider team
Willingness to take responsibility and ownership of client work, with supervision as appropriate
Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
Willingness to play a proactive part in business development and profile-raising activity
Positive attitude and interest in exploring and learning about new and unfamiliar legal areas
Ability to work flexibly and proactively
