About Us:

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people at the heart of decision-making.

Our work has a real impact on the day-to-day lives of residents, so we've made it our mission to provide them with the best quality services possible.

Our Housing Needs and Transformation team does incredible work, connecting residents with high quality temporary accommodation and ensuring they have all the benefits and support they need.

The Role:

As an Income officer, you'll be at the heart of this work.

Responsible for the collection of accommodation charges, you'll work closely with applicants and residents to ensure arrears are reduced and income is increased.

You'll act as a source of support, helping applicants with benefits claims, advising them when problems arise, and liaising with support agencies when extra input is needed.

You'll undertake the full management of customer accounts, including managing cases that need further action, working alongside the Council's legal team to monitor and act on possession cases.

Working to understanding the reasoning behind rent arrears, you'll support customers in need of additional assistance, remaining firm when the reasoning doesn't justify arrears.

Most importantly, you'll empower our customers to live full, independent lives, giving them all the tools they need to succeed.
