We currently have a rewarding and exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Specialist to join our Diagnostic Business Unit, with a specific focus on human genomic reference standards.

This is an exceptional opportunity to have global reach and influence in the rapidly expanding field of oncology to drive the current business needs and set the direction of future new product introductions.

To develop strategic relationships with reference standards customers across Europe with the goal to deliver on the revenue plan. You will be responsible for prospecting new business as well as managing existing clients.


Key Responsibilities
Align the needs of the customer with corporate objectives, the Product Specialist will have key responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive Dx product portfolio sales by partnering with sales, manufacturing, R&D teams for reference standards products and custom projects.
  • Full responsibility to deliver on the sales revenue and commercial activity for the Diagnostic Reference Standards Business Unit in your region, working together with your manager to establish/execute a strategic plan that supports the growth of the business.
  • Demonstrated experience of handling complex deals with the ability and experience to negotiate firmly and be confident in setting expectations with clients at all levels ensuring the needs of the business are met
  • Expanding the sales funnel through new customer generation will be a major component of the role
  • Secure partnerships with President, VPs and Directors at new companies, to truly understand the customer's needs.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and Business Manager of Diagnostic Reference Standards to evolve our gotomarket strategy to drive market share gains
  • Meet with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and work with Product Manager to capture voice of customer
  • Leverage indepth knowledge and understanding of customer needs and buying behaviours to strengthen targeted segmentation strategies.
  • Technically supporting customers through, trainings, collateral development, customer visits and regular communication.
  • Proactively gather & analyse reference standard market conditions, technical trends, VoC insights, and competitive landscape to drive the business strategy. Experience growing portfolios in a competitive, dynamic genomics market required.
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g., R&D, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing), external collaborators, and industry leader groups to gather intelligence that inform process improvement and product innovation.
  • In partnership with the marketing team, ensure consistent language and strategic narrative in marketing campaigns and collateral for continuity across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with Dx team to champion the future strategic direction of the Diagnostic portfolio, including updates to the product roadmap, including any changes to value positions and positioning statements based on market and competitor movement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • BSc in a related scientific discipline, MBA or PhD is preferable
  • Experience in diagnostic/life sciences industry (NGS and genomics experience essential), mix of technical experience and customer facing roles, e.g., commercial sales, business development or product management.
  • Able to travel for customer visit and/or attend/present at conferences/scientific meetings
  • Have flexibility to work with the global teams. Able to conduct/attend meetings outside of typical local business hours.
  • Strategic and tactical business acumen with experience of driving profitability and growth
  • Detailed orientated with excellent communication and presentation skills
