M&E Maintenance Engineer

What is the job?


Reporting to the Head of Facilities and taking overall responsibility for our PPM and reactive M&E and other general building services maintenance on site, you will also be responsible for fault finding and a range of mechanical and electrical tasks overthe course of your working week - with no two days being quite the same.


To be successful in this role, you must be able to show previous experience in an Engineering and/or Maintenance environment, be used to managing both PPM and reactive maintenance, including the development of future PPM in conjunction with teams elsewherein the business to ensure production down-time and impact on the customer is kept to a minimum as much as possible.

You must be confident to work autonomously and manage your own workload efficiently and effectively and have strong communication, planningand organising skills to ensure that you can work as part of the wider engineering team.

As you would expect in a role like this, the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines will also be important.


Key Tasks include:

  • Development and delivery of a programme of M&E maintenance and repair works, to the ensure the engineering infrastructure is well maintained including servicing and repairs to plant and equipment. This will also involve the monitoring of contractor activitieswhen they are working as part of the team.
  • Provide and support the delivery a first level of response for reactive works, at all times, to ensure the safety of colleagues and the availability of machinery to deliver to customer requirements.
  • Adhere to company HS&E standards.
  • Responsible for team members within the shop floor environment and ensuring all team members adhere to company values.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all machines are running safely and that all guarding is working and in place.
  • Ensure all work and projects are planned with all the relevant people involved.
  • Support continuous improvement projects within the Business.
  • Liaise with the Production & Planning departments to ensure any machine issues are dealt with promptly.
  • Be actively involved in the creation of risk assessments and process controls.


In addition to a good basic salary the company offers 26 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, life cover and pension and income protection.

This position is a double day shift.
