Niche Education Ltd are currently seeking confident, engaging, and flexible personnel to work as a Classroom Teaching Assistant in a school in Seaham.

As a Classroom Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for helping out the Teacher in a class of students across EYFS, KS1 & KS2, carrying out exercises set by the class teacher when teaching assistant staff are on short-term absence.

This may also include some 1:1 work with students with additional needs.

Although you will not be actively teaching it is important that Teaching Assistants have the relevant skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused.

The school are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic, and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff.

They are looking for people who will enjoy being effective in supporting students, including those with complex needs, and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.

Have experience working with children in some form e.g., tuition, sports coaches (any type)
Be able to develop and maintain a calm learning environment and good behaviour management skills
Be able to engage with children or young adults and enforce positive behaviour
Be able to challenge children or young adults when they display negative behaviour
Be able to build a strong, respectful rapport with children or young adults, including those with SEND
Have exceptionally good communication skills
Be responsive, flexible, and sensitive to the differing needs of pupils
