The Role
As an Associate Commercial Practitioner, you'll work as part of a professional and efficient function delivering a range of key procurement activities.
You could be working with our
Customer Facing Teams, managing relationships, developing commercial solutions and agreeing the future pipeline and prioritisation of the workbook.
Or, you might be supporting
Commercial Delivery within Category Teams across Technology, Estates, People and Professional Services, and the Supply Chain Security Team.
Commercial Operations, with responsibility for Policy, Audit, Finance, MI and People Development.
From contract implementation, management and tendering, to partnership negotiation and budget control, you'll contribute to a highly valued service.
You'll work with customers and suppliers as you support contract performance and delivery, and ensure we meet individual requirements as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
And as your knowledge and experience grows, you'll help improve commercial systems and processes, and ensure we continue working in line with procurement best practice.
Whether you're managing and nurturing supplier relationships, or liaising with customers from partner agencies, across government or our overseas counterparts, you'll provide a smooth-running, collaborative and efficient procurement service that'll aid our mission to keep the country safe.
About You
You don't need a qualification in procurement to join, and there's no minimum qualification requirement, but you'll be willing to study towards a professional commercial qualification such as CIPS (or business equivalent).
contract management, sourcing, commercial policy and assurance, supply chain, low value procurement and invoicing, supplier management, or extensive, exceptional customer service.
You'll also have experience of working in a role where you've managed contracts, sourced activity in response to demands, or worked with suppliers and other industries within a procurement environment.
And, with your strong communication skills, you'll build great working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues at both operational and senior levels.
Importantly, you'll take a positive approach to supporting change and improvement.You'll be a problem solver, able to identify opportunities to make our services even better while helping us overcome any potential setbacks.
You'll look to grow your skills, taking ownership of changes to your work and processes.You might have previously engaged in working groups or taken on mentoring or coaching roles - you'll be someone keen to develop and improve your own skillset, as well as our services.

Rewards and Benefits
You'll receive a starting salary of £34,414 - £35,734 (London), £32,050 - £33,452 (Cheltenham or Buckinghamshire) plus other benefits including:
