About the opportunity:
We are looking for an Football Coach to join our growing Everton in the Community team.


The Twinning Project is a national initiative, which pairs professional football clubs with both male and female prisons in England and Wales.

The Twinning Plus programme looks to combine football and education, supported by prison PE officers, to co-deliver accredited coaching and employability based qualifications to prisoners, and to better prepare them for life after their release.

The purpose of the Football Coach role is to deliver a comprehensive and engaging football delivery programme, in conjunction with the HM Prison & Probation Service Twinning Project at HMP Liverpool

  • The Football Coach will deliver sessions that support participants in developing and improving transferrable skills via football delivery. Working closely with the English Functional skills tutor, the post holder will plan, design and deliver sessions to maximise participant progress and the achievement of programme KPI's.

Other key responsibilities will include:
To plan, deliver and evaluate a comprehensive football programme, that meets the aims and objectives of the programme, whilst being informative, educational and engaging Prepare, utilise and amend the Twinning Project Plus resources for delivery as required Improve levels of participation in sport Relay a curriculum to football to inspire and motivate learners Use Football, as a tool to engage those participants with high complex needs. Be innovative to engage and motivate difficult and challenging individuals To work closely with Twinning tutor, and if required other programme managers, to ensure delivery of programmes are coordinated appropriately.- Safeguarding_

To understand the Club's Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines.

To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.


Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an individual who is Dynamic, personable and highly self-motivated. You will be people focused and able to develop and build existing and new working relationships

Other key Knowledge and Skills will include:

  • Level 2 in FA Football-
  • Experience of delivering football sessions to large groups-
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety and Safeguarding issues in a public setting.-
  • A track record of meeting programme KPI's and outcomes.-
  • IT literate to a good level and competent-
  • Certificate/Training in Safeguarding-
  • Relevant training in health and safety and child protection-
  • Full UK Driving LicenceThis role will be offered on a Fixed Term contract, working 35 hours per week.
The location will be predominantly based at HMP Liverpool
