Working Hours: 37 hours per week (part time or adjusted hours would be considered)


Salary:
Up to £30,000 per year, depending on experience

Future Projects is an ambitious charity which delivers a range of services across Norfolk to tackle poverty and deprivation.


Working from within communities of need, the charity delivers dedicated welfare rights advice, housing and homelessness support, loneliness and isolation services, mental health and wellbeing activity, money management advice and training, employment support,education services for children with SEND, and volunteering and skills through community radio.


In recent years the charity has grown significantly, and we are now seeking to add an innovative and forward-thinking Operations Manager to our team in order to support our work.


The Role - Operations Manager:


The Operations Manager will take responsibility for key functions across the charity, including Health & Safety, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Project Management.

The role holder will work closely with the Management Team to ensure the charity'sday-to-day operations are safe, effective, sustainable and run to schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities - Operations Manager:


Health & Safety:


  • Ensure the organisation meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Maintain healthy and safe working environments, ensuring that risks are assessed and managed effectively across all services and activity.
  • Ensure that staff, service users and other third parties receive suitable information, training, instruction and supervision to maintain their health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Ensure that advice is sought from competent persons on legal requirements for health and safety, and on current best practice, and incorporate these into safety planning and management arrangements.
  • Promote a safe and healthy culture across the organisation where safeguarding and safety is everybody's responsibility.
  • Monitor the health and safety performance of the organisation, verify that policies and procedures are effectively implemented and that standards are being maintained and progressively improved.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, and report to the CEO and Trustees on matters relating to Health & Safety.

Human Resources:


  • Ensure that all of the organisation's HR and employmentbased activity complies with best practice and regulatory/statutory requirements at all times including all employment law.
  • Develop and implement the charity's People Strategy to attract, empower and retain the best employees throughout the charity's services.
  • Act as the organisational lead for staff wellbeing, consulting with employees and stakeholders to identify and implement support and enrichment programmes to support the People Strategy.
  • Develop and implement HRrelated systems, processes, policies and procedures and monitor the organisation's performance to ensure that standards are maintained and progressively improved.
  • With support from the charity's HR advisors, provide practical support and guidance to Managers in dealing with daytoday HR matters.
  • Lead the organisation's recruitment, induction, and ongoing training functions to ensure that all employees are equipped to carry out their roles safely and effectively.
  • Ensure that performance management and CPD arrangements are utilised effectively to equip staff with the skills and knowledge to deliver excellence.

Project and Operations:


  • Assume project management responsibility for Future Radio, ensuring the station meets its Ofcom Key Commitments, operates sustainably and effectively, and contributes to the charity's overall mission.
  • Develop and implement the charity's project management systems and processes, ensuring these are utilised effectively to strengthen delivery.
  • Oversee the monitoring of project/service performance; collect, collate and analyse data and insights to inform planning and decision making and to maintain quality.
  • Provide operational and project management support to colleagues, ensuring there is a clear and consistent focus on delivering effective and impactful projects and services.
