Our aim is to give our young people the opportunity to expand their life choices to maximum benefit, to be healthy and happy members of society within our ever-changing social norms.

Do you want to work in a school like that? Read on

About us

CHA is an Ofsted 'good' school - not only do we have great students, we have a truly dedicated staff body with an immense team spirit.

We are going through a period of change and want you to be part of building a solid foundation from which to help make that difference to the outcomes & life chances of our community's young people.

The years of Covid lockdowns have affected our children's wellbeing on a mammoth scale. We need to build our children up to be the resilient young adults they deserve to be. Emotional intelligence/resilience is a key marker of academic success.

About you

SEND students are at the heart of our academy and this role is integral to helping some of our most vulnerable students to progress and succeed.

Do you have:

  • A passion for education and for lifelong learning?
  • The ability to relate to young people, to support their increasing resilience & inspire them to become independent, enthusiastic learners?
  • Excellent communication skills, a flexible approach & a sense of humour
  • Empathy, patience & understanding
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who may be considering a career supporting academic and pastoral progress.

You may also be interested in progressing to a career in teaching but looking to first gain experience in a school environment.

Training will be provided so no prior experience is necessary within a school setting, although this would be advantageous.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting SEND students in class according to need
  • Involvement in dedicated SEND interventions
  • Knowledge that we are sponsored by the Oxford Diocese. We look to our staff to hold our CHA values to heart and to be positive role models for our students to do the same. Great values for general conduct & citizenship
  • Honesty, Respect, Compassion, Forgiveness, Love, Selfdiscipline and Hope
  • Working proactively with the rest of the SEND Team in relation to individual students, monitoring their progress, liaising and advising where appropriate
  • Helping to develop positive relationships, promoting selfesteem and resilience
  • Acting as a key worker for identified individuals
