Responsible to:

Proprietors, Manager and Senior Care Staff of the Home Purpose of Position: You will share with other staff in meeting the personnel care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity, individuality, independence, rights and choices of the individual person, and to help in the general day to day activities of the home, you will endeavour to fulfil the aims and objectives of the home Person Specification - essential criteria 1.

Good literacy skills 9. Honest and Trustworthy 10. Reliable 11. Ability and desire to learn new skills, and improve knowledge and understanding Principle responsibilities: 1. To provide skilled and appropriate care to individual residents


This will include:
a. To follow and contribute to agreed plans of care, work and training programmes. b. To help individual residents to develop their level of personal and social skills and remain as independent as possible. c. To participate in occupational and recreational activities and encourage resident to do so. d. To assist residents with their individual care needs through best practice and attaining the desired outcome. 2.

To work individually and with colleagues to maintain all standards as laid down in the organisational policies and procedures, and comply with all relevant legislation.

3. To be responsible for undertaking a range of household tasks in order to maintain standards. 4. Answer call bells, answer telephone and greet visitors in a friendly approachable manner. 5. Take part in verbal reports, read and write reports. 6. Take part in meetings and training activities as required by the manager 7. To identify personal training and development needs and participate in training. 8. To bring to the attention of the Manager any inadequacies
- environmental or person centred, which may be to the detriment of residents health, safety and welfare. 9. To cover the absence of colleagues during periods of annual leave and sickness. 10. To perform such other duties as may be reasonably required. All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of the employment. All staff are expected to respect the requirements under the Data Protection Act 1988. All staff must ensure that they are of their responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 and all other relevant legislation. You are required to read all policies and procedures and any updates that may be issued from time to time.
