Description
A housing association is currently looking for a Finance Systems Manager on a temporary basis for about 5 months.

Key responsibilities are as follows


To support the Technical Administration of Finance IT systems and work with the IT department and support vendors to maintain the uptime of the relevant servers on the Microsoft Azure platform.


Support innovation and continuous improvements with regards to changes to our Finance IT systems; working closely with our finance stakeholders, Business Leaders and IT teams to optimise the core systems and develop smarter ways of working, recommendingpotential enhancements.

Support Finance and business users in building and running ad-hoc reports using Infor Query & Analysis 11.3, SUN SRS, SQL Server, Tableau and Power BI

Build robust relationships with finance stakeholders and business stakeholders to understand their needs.


Build and maintain a good working relationship with the IT team and external system/software suppliers to ensure that finance IT systems are fully embedded into the overall IT strategy.

Communicate effectively on support status for business as usual and project activities.


Design and deliver training courses to staff on our Finance IT systems, including new configurations of the existing systems, ensuring that correct usage is embedded.

Contribute to the finance systems roadmap.

Provide direction and coaching to Finance Systems Support Analysts in the work allocated to them.

Ensure that the company stays abreast of updates to our Finance IT systems from external suppliers.


To support the reconciliation and interface process for the Sun accounting systems with other systems with a focus on driving efficiency between Sun and other systems.

To support the reconciliation and the integration process for the purchase to pay (P2P) system and other internal systems as well as external systems, and regularly review their effectiveness

Essential requirements


Significant experience of responsibility for maintaining the finance IT system aspects of Sun accounting system and of a purchase to pay (P2P) system.


Significant experience of implementing and maintaining a finance IT systems control environment where reconciliations are carried out to timetable and to an appropriate standard.

Significant experience of working with large volumes of financial transactions on computerised financial systems

Significant practical experience in maintaining financial records and undertaking complex reconciliations

In-depth knowledge of Sun 6.3x Accounts, Sun 6.3x systems administration, Query & Analysis, and Sun SRS.

Demonstrable knowledge of Sun / Q&A multi-tier Server Architecture in an Azure setting.

Demonstrable experience of purchase to pay (P2P) systems administration, and their interface with other IT systems.

Demonstrable experience of finance systems implementation or upgrade projects

Demonstrable ability to deliver training to staff on all finance systems, in both classroom and "one to one" settings.

Demonstrable good written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft suite of products: Excel (including Power Query and VBA), Visio, Power BI

Experience in analysing and extracting data from SQL databases (intermediate level).

Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA) or equivalent
