Your New Role
Are you passionate about protecting and safeguarding the environment and the wildlife within it?
As a Seasonal Ecologist you will proactively work with the wider team to scope and deliver the ecological support required throughout the project lifecycle on large multi-million pound high profile infrastructure schemes.
You will be responsible for supporting protected species surveys, drafting protected species and habitat reports and supporting Senior Ecologists in the team.
Our Ecology team work alongside our award-winning design, maintenance and construction teams who transform our roads, railways and public buildings and deliver the critical support services the country relies on every day.
You will support this by planning and delivering habitat and protected species survey requirements and finding solutions to ensure the best outcome for biodiversity.
Using the latest technology, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the highest quality ecology advice, making sure we continue to be pioneers of the industry and exceed national standards.

The salary is £ - Depending on experience
Contract: 6 Month Fixed term Seasonal Work
The standard hours of work are
40.0 hours

You will be responsible for:
- Undertaking a wide range of ecological surveys.
- Drafting protected species and habitat reports.
- Supporting the senior Ecologist and Lead Ecologist with other project work where required.

We want to hear from you if you have:
- A degree in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Biology, Environmental Science (with a strong ecology focus) or similar/equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate previous experience in a professional ecological consultancy role
- Qualifying membership of a Professional Body and Chartership such as CIEEM
- Working towards Protected species licenses
- Experience in protected species surveys
- Experience in drafting ecological reports; including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Method Statements
- Thorough understanding of UK wildlife legislation
- Health and Safety awareness, especially safe working practices and risk assessment related to ecology fieldwork
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Experience in resourcing ecological surveys
- A full UK driving license
