About us:

The Refugee and Migrant Forum of Essex and London (RAMFEL), is a not for profit organisation led by the needs of the individuals and communities we work with.

Our focus is on providing immigration advice, destitution services, integration support and campaigning to improve the lives of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across London and Essex.


Purpose of the role:

RAMFEL has grown significantly over the last few years and we want to sustain our current size and diversify our income.

We are looking for someone confident in working up proposals but also an excellent communicator who can help highlight the excellent work of the charity and attract support from the general public and private donors.

The post-holder will ensure sustainable income generation for RAMFEL in line with the strategic plan.

Our current focus is to consolidate and our income through continuing with bids to charitable trusts and government funded projects.

We would also like to expand our fundraising in other areas to attract corporate and individual donors, in line with our increased campaigning activities.


The role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, bidding/tendering, negotiating and closing opportunities, while making sure any resulting awards are financially sound and are operationally and contractually deliverable.


Relationships:

The post-holder will work closely the Board of Trustees and CEO; they will coordinate the Business Development and Fundraising Sub Committee of the board, to ensure our fundraising activities are aligned with the strategic plan and with our income generation strategy.


They will also work closely with:

  • Head of Campaigns to make sure messaging and communications are in line with our campaign strategy
  • Our management accountant and bookkeeper, to ensure project budgets are within the financial parameters set by RAMFEL
  • Head of Services to establish whether a proposal is operationally deliverable, and to hand over full information about contracts we've won and expectations around delivery so they can be mobilised and delivered.
  • Work with the Head of Services to ensure reporting on our work to funders is clear and showcases our excellent work. This will involve ensuring that our ongoing monitoring is effective and allows clients to have a say, as well as bringing in our Expert by Experience groups wherever relevant.

Place of work:

The normal place of work will be at the People's Place 80-92 High Street, Stratford E15 2NE and occasionally our Ilford office.

We are currently asking staff to come to the office 40% of the time as part of a hybrid working approach.


Terms:
£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
; 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 6% pension contribution, cycle to work scheme, tech scheme, and employee assistance programme
