We are looking for a Head of Hotel Services to oversee, direct and line manage all areas of "the House" other than Care, such as domestic, laundry, kitchen and maintenance for our new 67 bedded home specialising in Care for the elderly, dementia and nursing for 20 hours per week.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:


  • Experience managing teams.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Friendly, creative and confident.
  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant Client group.
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS Check and where applicable a check against the DBS First List.

DESIRED:


  • Previous experience of working in a similar role with the relevant Client group
  • QCF/NVQ level 4 (Team leader).
  • Willingness to undergo further extensive training to improve knowledge and care standards within the home.
This is an exciting and varied role, which includes the following duties:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ordering necessary items and controlling stock levels.
  • Staff supervisions on all ancillary, kitchen and maintenance staff every 3 months.
  • Directing staff as necessary and rota planning.
  • Leading meetings every three months.
  • Preparing general risk assessments and ensuring all CoSHH sheets are in place.
  • Interviewing and selection of staff advertised for ancillary, kitchen, and maintenance roles.
  • Conducting regular audits such as environment, infection control, temperature records and cleaning check lists and preparing action plans as required.
  • Refurbishment of rooms when they become vacant.
  • Preparing "show rooms".
  • Working closely alongside the maintenance team and referring anything to contractors that cannot be fixed inhouse.
  • Be aware and work within the monthly budget spend of renewals and repairs.
  • Reporting any concerns to Manager or head office.
  • Liaising with Home Manager regarding planned works for each quarter of the year.
  • Attending monthly management meetings.
  • Ensuring shifts covered in each department.
  • Report any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by any of your staff to your manager immediately.
  • Ensure Environment Health requirements are met and inspections are hosted in a professional manner.
Staff may be required to wear PPE including masks. Staff may be required to undergo regular LFT and PCR testing in accordance to government guidelines at the time.
