Job Introduction

The Credit Controller plays a key role in establishing the credit worthiness of customer, pursuing debts and ensuring payment terms are adhered to.

The Credit Controller is also responsible for maintaining sales ledger, ensuring accounts are reconciled regularly and processing all payments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily matching of payments to customers' accounts through Remittances and Bank Statements, passing information to Finance Assistant for input.
  • Daily updating of cash forecast report with actual cash received.
  • Establishing credit limits for customers using on line agencies and past history.
  • Monitoring any adverse situations which could affect the customer's limits.
  • Maintaining customer master files ensuring information held is up to date, as well as creation of new customer master files when required.
  • Liaise with sales departments to resolve and assist with any queries which may arise.
  • Deal with all credit stopped orders, ensuring orders are released where appropriate
  • Maintaining and producing internal monthly cash forecasts and monthly debtor reports.
  • Reconciling all accounts including Intercompany through journals and cash allocation.
  • Producing Statements and spreadsheets for customers.
  • Processing & checking all letters of credit, including amendments & discounting & ensure all documents conform to UCP600.
  • Maintaining a live Sales Ledger of approximately 350 accounts.
  • Managing customer commissions to be used to pay sales ledger debt.
  • Communicate and meet with CreditSafe
  • Advising customers of the correct bank account to pay into.
  • Providing cover for cash allocation / cash posting in the absence of the Finance Assistant.

About You

  • Previous financial accounts and or credit control experience
  • Drive and determination
  • Excellent levels of communication skills
  • Good Organisational Skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Completed or studying towards finance or credit control qualification desired but not essential
