_Financial Crime Intelligence Analyst_


You will be part of a specialist Financial Crime Analytics team working on multiple cases that will bring substantial value to the society.


As a Financial Crime Intelligence Analyst, you will be reporting to Financial Crime System Threat and MI manager who is responsible for Financial Crime Analytics, Systems, Intelligence, MI production and regulatory reporting.


We're on a mission to expand our maturity within Intelligence/Horizon Scanning and this is an exciting new position that has been created for the purpose of supporting a more intelligence-led approach across the Financial Crime function.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with knowledge of Financial Crime, Analytics and Open-Source Investigations to assist the threat intelligence lead in the execution and implementation of Financial Crime Horizon Scanning and Threat Intelligence Analysis.


You will be working very closely with the Financial Crime Intelligence Lead alongside System & MI, Fraud, AML, and Risk teams.

Using your knowledge of Financial Crime, Data Analytics, you will help support the team and wider function as an Intelligence Specialist.

About the Role

  • Help Implement a strategy for Financial Crime Horizon scanning and intelligence collection and dissemination, inclusive of external and internal factors i.e., events, incidents, changes in regulations, fines etc.
  • Work as part of a team to research, gather, and develop intelligence, and deliver proactive investigations and reporting capabilities to understand and manage the financial crime risks at Yorkshire Build Society
  • Develop accurate Intelligence reporting and ensure MI is delivered to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner
  • Requirements management to understand the intelligence alert and what data you will collate
  • Perform horizon scanning to assess the impact through Intelligence and create Threat analysis with regards to the society risk exposure.
  • Understand financial crime risks, to enable proactive prevention and detection
  • Stakeholder management across the business in first
- and second-line risk to ensure that our financial crime systems and processes are being managed

  • Communicate results of analysis to senior management to a high standard, both written and verbally, making recommendations for risk mitigation within risk appetite

About You

  • Understanding of Open-Source Intelligence/Investigations
  • Understanding of financial crime risk such as AML, KYC, Sanctions, Fraud, and the UK regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques, to perform complex analysis
  • Ability to analyse data information using SQL/SAS and being able to communicate this clearly to stakeholders in the business
  • Knowledge and experience of data visualisation using Tableau/Power BI or other similar tools.
