Description
A well versed Quality Inspector is required to join a global leading manufacturer based near Accrington.

The company specialises in the design and manufacture of high end precision products for the Oil & Gas and Nuclear sectors, where the quality of their products is the reason behind their excellent international reputation.


The company is now seeking a Quality Inspector to join their nuclear division and help maintain their market leading status.

The role will involve performing inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components and finished items used in the manufacture of products for the nuclear industry.


Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
  • Rework or reject subassemblies or finished products as required.
  • Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate in the construction and/or revision of SOP's for the inspection function.
  • Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action to supervise.

Experience Required

  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to read engineering quality plans
  • Ability to use inspection/measurement equipment
  • Micrometres, Vernier's etc
  • Experience in Final View of completed assemblies prior to despatch
  • Experience of operating computing equipment for data processes
  • Two years plus Quality Control experience in dimensional and visual inspection is preferred
  • Must be used to physical work and heavy lifting
  • Must be British Citizen due to industry requirements
