Job description
To work with your Store's management team in running the store on a daily and weekly basis.

You will be required to assist in the completion of all store operations according to the company guidelines and ensuring that all minimum standards are reached.

Your secondary purpose is to ensure the store targets, budgets and KPI's are met, as well as assisting in developing and coaching the Sales Assistants in their role.

You are fully responsible for the store and team in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.


Key Areas of Accountability:

  • In addition the areas described in the Sales Assistant job description you will also:
  • Ensure that all planned events (eg: clearance periods, key trading periods, and promotions etc) are executed thoroughly and effectively maximizing the sales.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the store's operations are carried out according to the company's guidelines and manuals, using the tools available

These include:
Health & Safety, administration, maintenance, security, banking, stocktaking and housekeeping etc.

  • Be responsible for resolving all customer service issues including dealing with complaints, returns and refunds. You will also ensure that all customer service expectations and standards are monitored and delivered, feeding back and training or development needs to the store management team as necessary.
  • Ensure that all KPI's are communicated to the store team and work with the store management to ensure they are met

These will cover:
Sales, ATV, UPT, stock control, staff cost and mystery shopper results etc.

  • Ensure every member of the team understands the layout of the store and the commercial zones and is able to knowledgably discuss these. Team members should also be able to identify and quantify the best sellers and the key sales areas in their store. Best sellers, new lines and the key sales areas (hotspots) in the store.
  • Ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and roles, assist the Store Management team
