Your role:

The inventory management assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all finished product and associated samples, manufactured in the Glasgow Biomanufacturing facility.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring shipments to the Biorepository or client approved destination is controlled in line with BioReliance Quality management System (QMS) and client Quality Agreements.

They will also be responsible for maintaining traceability for finished product through Oracle inventory management (receipts, storage, location transfer, shipment) to ensure stock records are kept up to date and accurate.


The ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across all areas of the business will be critical for success in the role.


BASED IN THE MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT, THE POST HOLDER WILL PERFORM A WIDE VARIETY OF ROUTINE TASKS TO SUPPORT INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OF CLIENT PRODUCTS AND ASSOCIATED SAMPLES, MANUFACTURED UNDER GMP CONDITIONS.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, RECEIVING, STORAGE, SHIPPING, AND MANAGING INVENTORIES OF MANUFACTURING FINISHED PRODUCT.

THIS INVOLVES THE PHYSICAL HANDLING OF FINISHED PRODUCT AND ASSOCIATED SAMPLES, AS WELL MAINTAINING ACCURATE SYSTEM RECORDS FOR ALL TRANSACTIONS MADE TO/FROM THE DEPARTMENT.

THE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PERFORMING EACH ASSIGNED ACTIVITY PROACTIVELY, TO A HIGH STANDARD AN IN LINE WITH APPLICABLE PROCEDURES.

THE ABILITY TO MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH SUPPORT SERVICES, SCIENTISTS AND ALL MANUFACTURING PERSONNEL WILL BE ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS IN THE ROLE.


WHO YOU ARE:


  • Previous experience working in a regulated environment (GLP/GMP) would be preferrable.
  • Previous inventory management experience would be advantageous.
  • Minimum SQA National 5 (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • IT Literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (particularly Microsoft word and excel)
  • Ability to complete documentation (both handwritten and electronic) neatly and accurately
  • Excellent Organisational Skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Logical in thought with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Pursues everything with energy, drive and the need to finish, especially in the face of resistance or setbacks
  • Is seen as a team player, cooperative, easily gains support of peers, encourages collaboration
