We are recruiting a full-time Healthcare Assistant for the Eleanor Hobbs Ward at Southend Hospital which specialises in Gastroenterology.

Eleanor Hobbs Ward is a Gastroenterology and General Medicine Ward. It is an acute mixed 35 medical bedded ward based on the 5th floor of the tower block.

This job will close early if we receive sufficient applicants.


The Health Care Assistant will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the ward to provide a seamless service & high quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.


You will act as a member of the care team, undertake care to assist qualified nurse in delivering patient focused care sensitively, respecting personal dignity and respect.


You will be expected to work collaboratively as part of the ward team, adhering to the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the ward.

You will handle information and exchange it with care, accuracy and sensitivity, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Effective communication is expected to be maintained within care team and between other team members, patients, relatives and visitors.
