About the role & team

Your primary responsibility in this role will be to originate, structure and lead transactions within Property & Casualty Structured Solutions.

This includes:

Work as a team to deliver on our growth ambitions for transactions and strive for 35% of P&C reinsurance margin globally
Foster Swiss Re's brand value as the goto market for transactional expertise and delivery and fight for pole position
Build up relationship capital, together with Client Markets, brokers and other alternative distribution channels and source transaction opportunities
Lead multidisciplinary deal teams to market, structure, and close innovative reinsurance transactions for P&C cedents in the UK & Ireland
Structure creative, tailormade solutions that meet client needs whilst staying within our risk appetite
Coordinate with Products Underwriting to ensure best practice underwriting and costing
Team with internal professionals to ensure standard methodology for regulatory, accounting, tax and legal requirements to mitigate reputational risk
Build on the transactional DNA within Swiss Re and help coach and mentor our extended community including the Designated Structurers

This is a challenging role offering excellent opportunities to play a key role in helping to grow our transactional success story and developing both a deep technical knowledge of structured solutions and a very wide range of soft skills (such as client interactions, project management, negotiations, and communication).

It also provides extensive exposure to senior and executive management of Swiss Re and a wide networking knowledge community.

You will join the diverse and knowledgeable team within PCSS, which is part of Products Underwriting and has several core functions:

We provide structured reinsurance & capital management solutions to P&C clients
We assume P&C insurance risk in nontraditional formats
We seek opportunities to crosssell solutions across all lines of business, including retrospective solutions and ILS/ILW

The team is comprised of over 60 professionals globally and responsible for generating substantial reinsurance margin globally.

You will work extensively with colleagues in many different areas, in particular Client Markets, Business Development, and the different P&C teams both throughout UK & Ireland, EMEA and globally.

In case you fulfill the following criteria:

Professional Background

Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial or insurance industry
College degree required; Graduate degree preferred
Understanding of reinsurance risk and actuarial principles
Significant and multifaceted experience in reinsurance either in Underwriting or Marketing, complemented by practical experience in executing reinsurance transactions
Work experience in a multicultural and crossfunctional environment

Technical skills

Outstanding analytical capabilities
Strong financial acumen with deep capital management and corporate finance proficiency, including accounting, tax, legal, regulatory and compliance principles
Leadership Qualities
Strong entrepreneurial mindset and focus on execution
Excellent teammate including ability to work well in a virtual team environment
Proven ability to lead & manage large crossfunctional teams
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
