Part of dnata Group, dnata catering UK specialises in airline catering and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our dynamic team.

This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance theircareer in Human Resources and gain hands-on experience in a supportive workplace.


What's the purpose of role:


A key role within the HR team, the North HR Business Partner will guide, mentor and challenge the leadership team surrounding People initiatives and processes.

Acting as a true business partner, the role will support the HR Director and broader HR team inthe development and delivery of the People strategy.

The role will report to the Senior HR Business Partner and will support our Birmingham, East Midlands, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast units.


Who you'll deal with:


Internal:
Human Resources team; comprised of Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Recruitment and Payroll. Operational Directors, Regional Managers, Functional managers and colleagues.

External:
Union Regional Organisers, ACAS, Employment Tribunal, Suppliers, Auditors.


What you'll be doing:


  • Autonomously manage the employee relations process for our North units, ensuring compliance to legislative, HR and company standards.
  • Review consistent implementation of all policies and procedures such as Discipline, Absence Management and Grievance whilst providing appropriate feedback to the management team for noncompliance.
  • Prepare for, and attend, Employment Tribunals, acting as a representative for the Company.
  • Oversee the workforce planning programmes with the Regional Managers to ensure operational readiness.
  • Oversee local Trade Union agreements and advise on any issues which arise.
  • Manage performance to ensure all costs are achieved and seek further improvements where necessary.
  • Mentoring HR Advisors and line management of the North HR Advisor to share knowledge and support the development of colleagues in the team.
  • Ensure effective working relations with external service providers are maintained and advise on appropriate action if agreed standards of service are not maintained.
  • Meet all deadlines for information requests on budgeting, compliance, reporting and people performance and ensure that information supplied is accurate and clearly presented.
  • Build customer relationships at all levels to meet business needs and ensure issues and concerns are dealt with effectively.

What you'll have:


  • Preferably Level 7 CIPD qualification with experience in a Business Partner/similar level role.
  • Experience of successful management of complex ER cases.
  • A sound knowledge of ER issues and employment legislation.
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • A considered approach to problemsolving, with ability to generate ideas and recommend solutions
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people. Strong interpersonal skillset, ability to listen, excellent organisation skills.
  • Capable of working autonomously and as part of a team with the ability to quickly build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong IT Skills, particularly word and excel.
