The Role
We're looking for an experienced, self-motivated and engaging Cabling Supervisor to join our new Town Build Team. Reporting into the Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the supervision of test, rod/rope, cabling and splicing resource.

You will be expected to take the lead driving delivery on site whilst ensuring compliance with company and third-party health and safety and quality standards.

Effective communication and organisation skills are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Supervision and carrying out inspections of the rod and rope, cabling and splicing teams
  • Carrying out inspections of PIA activities as required
  • Organisation of the inhouse resource (cabling and splicing) to meet internal delivery expectations
  • Championing Quality and Health and Safety, promoting and managing excellence in all SHEQ practices
  • Responsible for all build related data and its integrity from the field to the Project Team
  • Delivering projects on time, to budget and the required quality through robust and highquality management processes, covering risk mitigation and forecasting
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities for cost saving synergies across the delivery team
  • Providing information to the Project Manager for them to be able to monitor, report and escalate issues within projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with the local council and work with the Project Manager on the overall council engagement
  • Management of material forecasting and allocation to teams to ensure materials are available as required for build
  • Ensure all enabling suppliers are delivering to the committed dates agreed with daily updates to be provided by suppliers on delivery
  • Managing daily issues alongside the field management team (Suppliers / Supervisor / Gangs)
  • Run daily standup calls to discuss commitments / projected forecasts & completions
  • Collaboratively committing to weekly Total Homes Passed targets alongside the Delivery Manager
  • Providing weekly pipeline of work for the individual Delivery Teams
  • Working with the Delivery Manager to overview the workstack and report into the Project Manager
  • Ensuring all Direct Labour have submitted all Risk Assessments daily via Render
  • Requesting Noticing and Traffic Management through our internal noticing teams
  • Validation and allocating the workstack via Smartsheet and Render
  • Ensure asbuilt information back from the field is coordinated across all relevant parties once completed

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in supporting Project/Build Managers in large scale telecoms projects deploying FTTP is essential
  • Welldeveloped organisational and planning skills including schedule, scope and resource management
  • Must have a valid NRSWA Supervisor qualification
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to set good examples and motivate others
  • Good local knowledge and existing relationships advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft Excel & Office experience required
  • A good track record of working in an office/programmebased environment
  • Ability to understand and implement agreed plans
  • The ability to work collaboratively with Stakeholders both internal and external
  • Ability to follow and a process driven environment
