Description

Fixed Term for 2 years, Full Time working 37 hours per week. Your working days will be Monday to Friday.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join Bristol City Council, a diverse and ambitious organisation. The role is specifically as a Bus lane Enforcement Officer (CCTV).

What you'll be doing:

Your main role will be verifying CCTV footage relating to contraventions of Bus Lane and Parking regulations and reporting camera faults to the Bus Lane CCTV supervisor.

You will be using various Microsoft programs and bespoke systems, therefore an understanding and working with computerised systems is necessary.

Please note that the above paragraph describes your primary role, however, depending on workload and resources it is possible that you may be required to work within Bristol in a mobile CCTV enforcement vehicle.

We do not currently envisage this change being implemented but you should be aware that it is possible.

What we're looking for:

  • An awareness and understanding of issues surrounding traffic (particularly Bus Lane, Parking and Clean Air Zone) enforcement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a good level of English (both written and spoken).
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, to work without direct supervision and be selfreliant
  • Attention to detail.

Why Bristol City Council?

At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high-profile organisation.

For the majority of our roles hybrid working arrangements are available, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice - mixing both home and office working.

Join us and you'll receive an excellent rewards package including flexible working and flexitime, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.

In addition, you'll be working in a supportive environment where you'll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.

How do I apply?
**For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
