What will you be doing?


You will be optimising the design of new and existing waste management facilities to provide value for money, whilst allowing operational activities to be carried out safely and efficiently.

You will be providing support during the development phase of theproject, scoping, proposing design and pricing with our supply chain.

This will involve ensuring that all civil engineering works are designed and delivered in accordance with Veolia's contractual obligations, and to meet the operational and commercial needs of the client (internal/external) and that the design of all works willensure that the operational requirements are met and that the works ensure the safety and welfare of all personnel and are in compliance with all relevant legislation.


What are we looking for?

  • You will hold a Civil Engineering Degree and be working towards becoming Chartered with the Institute of Civil Engineers.
  • Previous provenproject management skills and experience, with effective time planning and self organisation skills.
  • Having a good awareness of the Waste Management industry and technologies interfaces (MRF [Materials Recycling Facility]/MBT [Mechanical Biological Treatment]/IVC [In-Vessel Composting]/ERF [Energy Recovery Facility]) would also be advantageous.
  • You will have the ability to form effective working relationships with your teams, clients and contractors and experience of managing multiple projects to time, cost and performance constraints agreed with internal project sponsors.
  • Basic awareness of performance and workbased contracts (such as NEC3, Red Book and bespoke contracts) and an awareness of environmental legislation and standards are all also beneficial
