We are working in partnership with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO), one of the UK's best-loved and most pioneering orchestras and described by Arts Council England as "the cultural heartbeat of the South West".

Under the baton of Chief ConductorKirill Karabits, their concert season is packed with an extraordinary repertoire and world-class artists.

They perform across the whole of the South West, including concert series in Poole, Exeter and Portsmouth, visits to concert halls in Bristol and Truro,and small-scale chamber concerts in the heart of rural communities.

They are seeking a
Senior Development Officer, to support the Development Manager in rolling out the BSO's thriving individual-giving programme, ensuring that fundraising targets are met and income from individual donors is maximised.

Thepostholder will be responsible for creating and delivering tailored stewardship plans, and building strong donor relationships, managing a portfolio of gifts, ranging from £1,000-£2,499, and will seek opportunities to upgrade support where appropriate.

Workingwith the Development Officer, the postholder will also coordinate and run a range of high-level donor and prospect events.

  • Experience of fundraising or equivalent relationship development and trackrecord of securing support._
  • Experience in writing, research, and data analysis, with the ability to interpret, utilise and present data.
  • Understanding of donor motivations for giving and passion for providing excellent supporter care.
  • Keenness to develop skills and experience in events management.
We are looking for a strong team player, who is committed to delivering high-quality work at all times.

Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, attention to detail, being organised, and able to juggle priorities and meet deadlines will be essential.

Willingness to travel to Portsmouth, Exeter, Bristol and other parts of the region as needed, and the ability to drive with a full driving license or commitment to learn is required.
