Description
rotocol is working closely with a college in the Skipton area, in their search for a passionateLearning Mentor.
In this position you would be:
- Mentoring and safeguarding referrals, determine need, ensure appropriate and timely interventions are in place to meet the need of vulnerable and at-risk students.
- Managing own caseload with relevant direction from the Student Services Manager and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Signpost students and families to relevant external services where appropriate.
- Carrying out 1:1 intervention with students to proactively address issues of low attendance, develop individual behaviour strategies and plans working with parents, carers, and colleagues to achieve a positive outcome for students.
You would be working on a
full time basis - 37 hours per week, on a temporary basis
until 30th June.
The rate is
£14 to £15 per hour + holiday pay.
The person & qualifications
- Has a relevant Level 3 qualification (Learning Support, Counselling).
- Has experience working with young people.
- Has experience working in a studentcentered environment.
- Has an undertanding of the issues facing young people and the barriers to education.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding in an education setting.
