Description

Hosted by RGU, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East is one of 20 Scottish Government funded Regional Groups in Scotland helping employers to connect to young people in education.

We work with employers, schools and partners within the youth employability landscape to enhance insights and provide inspiration and experience for young people in education to prepare them for the next step in their journey beyond school.

DYW Regional Groups play a key role in the delivery of the Young Person's Guarantee (YPG) which aims to connect every 16-24 year old in Scotland to an opportunity.

This opportunity could include a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training, volunteering or an enterprise opportunity.

At DYW NE, we serve the full region across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and so we welcome applicants who are based across the region.

We have 3 Full Time, Term Time Employer School Coordinator opportunities available.

These will be based remotely with travel across the region, particularly in the north and central area of the region.

Working as a part of a small team, you will be expected to account and relationship manage a portfolio of employers who have pledged to the Young Person Guarantee (YPG).

You will also be expected to build relationships and work with employers who would like to support and engage with young people but have not pledged to the YPG.

You will work closely with your colleagues to ensure the delivery of employer engagement across the regional secondary schools.

You will need to have excellent relationship management skills and be a great communicator in order to build strong and lasting relationships with employers who can deliver meaningful interactions to schools and young people and ensure regional sectors are represented.

You need to have excellent planning and organisation skills, along with being creative and finding solutions with the ability to think outside the box.

You will also need to proactively collaborate with key partners and colleagues to support the school's strategic plan. You will be expected to promote the Young Person's Guarantee and support employers to pledge their support.

To apply, please submit your CV on myjobscotland, along with a covering letter detailing your suitability for the role as set out in the person specification.
