What we're looking for?


We're looking for a Data & Digitalisation Lead to join our RIIO3 department in Newport to work as part of the Business Plan team, this role will be responsible for WWU's transformation to making data digital and available to support the move to net zero.

This will include documenting data assets, data owners and producing data quality assessments and improvements plans.

There will be a need to identify data users both internal and external to WWU and consulting on their data needs and how we make that data accessible.


All of this will need to be converted into a robust 5 year plan for systems, people and data management for submission to Ofgem.


We'll trust you to:


  • Produce and maintain a digitalisation strategy and plan for the period WWU next price control period)
  • Attend the Ofgem stakeholder engagement working groups, ENA data digitalisation steering group and our Customer Engagement Group (CEG)
  • Develop a 5 year plan and write a robust and evidenced business plan chapter for the next price control period with support from the Business Plan writer
Roles and responsibilities are a guide and dependent on Ofgem's framework decision on future work

You'll need to have:
  • Good understanding of data, metadata and principles of open data and data triage
  • An awareness of data governance frameworks and systems that would support.
  • An ability to work with various business departments, understanding their data and data needs
  • Budget management and ability to author investment papers
