The Opportunity


Working as a Delivery Engineer, you will support the Lead Delivery Engineer as Client Oversight on SHES, Customer, Programme, Cost and Quality for construction works delivered by supply partners and contractors on behalf of the IPO.

You will be criticalin supporting the delivery of both our replacement and customer construction works.


Key Accountabilities

  • Act as Site Manager/CDM Principle Contractor representative where Cadent IPO is undertaking works under a selfdelivery model (including Nonstandard connection)
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer journey (survey, construction and installation)
  • Support the Nonstandard connections order process by undertaking surveys for design, preconstruction information and customer quotations
  • For nonCMO delivered works, site manage Cadent and customer works ensuring key dates, quality and customer experience standards are met
  • Reviewing Routine Operations (RO) and Non-Routine Operation(NRO) documentation and works undertaken; assess for alignment with Engineering Policy and relevant standards
  • Authorising work in line with procedures and complete documentation
  • Support the Lead Delivery Engineer in ensuring compliance with Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR), Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR), Electricity at Work Regulations (EWR), Control of Major Accidents and Hazards (COMAH) and gas quality aspects ofthe Gas Safety (Management) Regulations (GS(M)R)
  • Carrying out investigations, technical inspections and reviews to ensure operations undertaken are safe and efficient
  • Identify, log and progress defect correction to ensure that suppliers deliver to quality standards
  • Support the LDE in carrying out the role of Authorising Engineer as described in Safe Control of Operations (SCO)
  • Ensuring engineering issues are identified as part of review processes and addressed/resolved accordingly
  • Support the LDE with Health, Safety and Environmental issues pertaining to direct reports including Safe Control of Operations, Permits and maintenance of ISO14001, PAS55, etc
  • Providing engineering expertise and advice, as required
  • Provide appropriate engineering and operational input into the design process including review of the proposals for SHESQ management, project risks, deliverability, programme and safety performance
  • Act as the key interface between the project and both internal and external teams

About you

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline plus Engineering Chartership /or equivalent level of experience
  • SCO qualifications
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
Desirable

  • Extensive postdegree experience in an operational or contractor environment

Practical Experience

  • Registered SCO 2/ 5 /4 Competent Person and Authorising Engineer competencies and experience of administering each
  • Extensive gas engineering experience
  • Experience in conducting inspections, initiating preventative action and authorisation processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety techniques
  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate legislation, policy and procedures
  • Sound understanding of Cadent's engineering operations
  • Sound understanding of codes of practice, engineering instructions, safety and statutory regulation
  • EUSR safety passport
  • CDM awareness training
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certificate
  • Has experience of relevant legislation as applicable to complex projects
  • Aware of Accident, Incident and Near Miss Reporting and Investigation
  • Has experience in the production and evaluation of RAMS / procedures
  • Experience in undertaking Technical Inspections for site compliance Has experience of the G17
