Are you an experienced Compliance Officer looking for a new challenge in a growing, award-winning company?

As Compliance Officer, you will be part of an expanding team whose function is to ensure that Levenseat is an industry leader in the fields of environmental and health and safety compliance


Duties include:
- assisting in the development and review of plans and procedures to ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of relevant planning consents, environmental permits, health and safety legislation, and good practice.
- performing environmental compliance and health and safety audits and making recommendations on necessary corrective action to ensure compliance with environmental permits and health and safety requirements.
- developing and delivering training to operations managers and front-line employees with respect to environmental and health and safety at work compliance.
- assisting the Compliance Manager in the review and modification of environmental permits.
- assisting operations managers in the development and review of health and safety risk assessments and method statements.
- assisting in the development, delivery, and review of environmental management systems.
- managing multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
- developing and implementing sampling procedures and protocols.
- preparing reports for the Compliance Manager, Operations Manager, and Directors, as required.
- liaising with external agencies and contractors as required, including SEPA, BSI, the HSE, and the company's external advisers.
- other, additional activities that the Compliance Manager may reasonably request.


Essential Skills:


  • Degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, e.g. Environmental Science or Applied Science but consideration will be given to applicants with other qualifications who have significant work experience in environmental and/or health and safety compliance.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental and health and safety legislation relating to waste and resource management.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 management systems.
  • Excellent communicator in oral and written formats.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in an operational waste and resource management environment.
  • Effective team player.
  • Willingness to operate outside standard working hours when required.

Desirable Skills Experience of working in a similar role in the public or private sectors would be an advantage but suitably qualified and motivated applicants with no such experience will considered.
