The Governing Board is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher to join the Humanities Faculty from Easter 2023 as Head of History.

This is a very exciting opportunity to be joining St John Fisher Catholic Comprehensive School as we move into our new buildings which are opening in February 2023.

Working in brand new school buildings is a unique and rare opportunity and we are seeking a highly skilled Head of Department - History with a can-do ethos, drive, grit and boundless enthusiasm.

It is essential that our Head of History is a highly effective teacher with an exceptional understanding of curriculum design, is supportive of others and openly shares best practice, modelling this with their team.

We are seeking someone who can share their passion for History to our students and to inspire all students to have a love of History.

In addition, we are looking for someone who:

Encourages and inspires young people
Has experience of teaching History across all Key Stages
Can manage and lead a department
Instils a passion for History in all students including highachieving students
Is an experienced History teacher, or 2iC of a department.
