Reporting to the Finance Manager we are seeking a well motivated individual to work in our head office, good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, working in a team environment your responsibilities and experience will need to match the following;Accounts
- Proven working experience in a senior level in a Finance Department
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with general ledger functions and the monthend/year end close processes.
- Maintain and update the nominal ledger accounts in finance system (AIQ).
- Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts.
- Maintaining records of all prepayment and cost accruals, preparing the monthly journals, and posting them onto AIQ.
- Work with the Projects Team to credit check customers, validate minimum finance information and provide finance work orders to progress Projects.
- Review and update the WIP file for Project Cargo projects and calculate the accrued and deferred income together with the cost accruals and post journals onto AIQ.
- Working closely with the Projects Team reviewing any variances between the estimated income and costs forecast at the outset of a project and the actual values.
- Experience in maintaining and reconciling intercompany accounts.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Assist with the yearend closure of ledgers and prepare the yearend financial statements ready for auditors to review.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting which includes the preparation of financial statements for two subsidiaries in Asia, submitting the year end results to the local auditors.
- Assist the Asian auditors in completing the filing of the final accounts to the relevant authorities.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Work with the remote finance team and assist in cross training.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the maintenance and processing of the two monthly payrolls for the US part of the business.
- As we have operations in the USA, you will need to assist in the maintenance of US tax records for employees based across 7 states, coordinating the filing of all returns via our appointed local tax agent.
- Preparation of management accounts for 2 foreign subsidiaries
- Monitor and review any US state sales tax which the company may incur during their operations and ensure that any submissions are made on time.
Administrative
- Have good communication skills as the role requires working with tax specialists for the US and Asian arms of the business.
- Experience of recording of employee's benefits for the completion of P11Ds or any equivalent statutory returns and pension accounts
- Completing and submitting surveys received in the allotted time.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Skills required
- Good knowledge of accounts software in which the use of foreign currencies is necessary.
- Working experience of using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good Excel spreadsheet knowledge
- Knowledge of VAT rules.
- Able to work on your own initiative have good time management skills and be able to achieve given time scales.
Salary:
£30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
