What You Can Expect from the Role

Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:


  • Inputting and peer checking all payroll data ensuring the correct internal policies have been applied.
  • Completing complex manual calculations, including tax and NI, (inc. directors' NI) and other statutory deductions.
  • Completing monthly reconciliation of the payroll.
  • Preparing monthly variance and gross to nets report to ensure colleagues are paid correctly.
  • Preparing monthly payroll and pension returns and submissions in accordance with statutory obligations.
  • Providing 1st line support for payroll queries.
  • Supporting the wider finance team for monthly finance reporting and year end reporting.

The Experience, Qualifications and Skills You Will Have

Essential Criteria:


  • Ability to take initiative, be motivated to achieve high performance standards, and be accountable for meeting performance standards.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll.
  • Indepth working knowledge of payroll processes, including statutory pay and deduction
  • Up to date with payroll legislation and pension regulations.
  • Excellent manual calculation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytic skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Experience with maintaining confidentiality.

Desirable

  • CIPP qualifications
  • Inhouse payroll experience
  • Experience in working with international geographical regions with focus on but not restricted to Canada, USA, Greece
  • Payroll project experience (including vendor migrations, process improvements).
