CAFAG helps to bring people and communities together to support and change lives. We are a Community Centre based in the heart and central point of Fegg Hayes Rd, Chell Heath, Chell.
We support members of the community and offer services that include a Nursery, Creche, Youth Service, Café, Gym Facility, Charity Shop, Gardening, Room Hire, Training, Volunteering opportunities, social and community events plus so much more.

Job Summary
As a financial well being advisor, your role involves proactively engaging with residents as part of an early intervention approach.
As a creative and dynamic well being practitioner, your role involves providing one-on-one emotional and practical health support, managing risk within a service safeguarding context.
Delivering both short term and long term assistance at CAFAG.Responsibilities and duties:
Financial Inclusion Approach:
Work with team members across the organization to promote a financial inclusion approach at the earliest opportunity to support residents.
Budgeting Advice and Benefit Checks:
- Provide budgeting advice.
- Carry out benefit checks.
- Support clients making new claims.
- Help residents understand their rent liability.
Applications and Benefit Decisions:
- Challenge benefit decisions on behalf of residents when required.
Affordability Assessments:
- Provide guidance and referrals as appropriate.
Maximizing Income:
- Guide residents in understanding and planning household budgets.
- Identify opportunities to maximize income through costsaving and behavioral measures.
Debt Management:
- Identify residents struggling with debts and refer them to specialist debt advice agencies.
Benefit Entitlements:
- Stay uptodate on benefit entitlements.
- Advise residents on eligibility.
- Consider diverse needs when delivering advice.
Legislation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain knowledge of incomerelated legislation.
- Keep full and accurate records of all cases within client confidentiality.
- Provide data for Key Performance Indicator reports.
Engagement and Empowerment:
- Proactively engage with residents.
- Arrange and hold meetings/learning sessions with internal teams and residents.
- Promote a resident empowerment culture.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver effective shortterm oneonone support
- Provide confidential, unbiased, nonjudgmental listening services.
- Carry out social mobility group projects
Qualification and Skills Required:
Essential Criteria

Excellent IT skills and use of Microsoft Office.

Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Organsiational and administrative skills.

Ability to work as part of a team.

You will have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively face to face, in writing and over the phone.

Clear knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislations.
Desirable Criteria

Up to date knowledge and experience of external agencies and/or experience of setting up referral pathways.

1-2 + years experience in an advisory role.

£12.00 per hour
