Description
To oversee and manage the execution and administration of a specific contract/project from commencement to completion, with all other miscellaneous tasks associated with the everyday operation of a small business.
This is a supervisory position; however, as the leading member of our site based installation team, the role demands a high percentage of 'hands on' tool related activity dependent on contract size and complexity.
Relationships:
- Directly responsible to the Managing Director.
- Ongoing day to day responsibility and reporting to the Contracts Manager
- Liaison with all office based employees, site based employees, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Occasional communication with design team.
Dress code:
- This is a site based hands on role, therefore it is important that appropriate clothing is worn to suit your working environment. At all times on site, the appropriate Company branded PPE must to be worn, including High Visibility Vest, Hard Hat, Toe Protection Footwear, and Respiratory Protective Equipment (where appropriate). At all times an image which reflects the Company's professionalism and high standards must be maintained.
Tasks:
Organising and managing the labour resources on respective sites to ensure optimal contract progress.
Accurately completing Daily Site Diaries ensuring all relevant events and staffing are fully recorded.
Accurately completing the weekly Health and Safety Site Inspection Forms
Ensuring that Completion Certificates are fully completed and signed as necessary.
Ensuring that all site based employees have read, understood and signed the project specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement.
Liaising with the Contracts Manager:
- If amendments and/or revisions are required to the Risk Assessment or Method Statement.
- Regarding the ongoing strengths and weaknesses of the workforce regarding their ability, training requirements, attitude etc.
- Providing advance notice regarding site progress and /or delays.
Completion of Scaffold register ensuring all Scafftags are in line with current legislation.
Ensuring, where possible, that all apprentices are involved in tasks commensurate with their level of training.
Calling off materials from Global Orders, ensuring that all delivery notes are shared with the office.
Attending site progress meetings where required.
Ensuring that all 'plant' is fully returned to the hirer upon completion of the hire, with the off-hire note shared with the office.
Maintaining accurate records of varied works, including recording all verbal instructions on the Confirmation of Verbal Instruction (CVI) form.
Completing accurate Day-work sheets for all operations not included within the original contract scope of works.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties; you will be expected to perform varied and differing tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the Company and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
