CNC Turner (nights)

Salary:
Up to £37.5k DOE % shift uplift = £50,000)

Hours of work: 5.00pm - 3.30am Mon to Wed & 5.00pm - 2.30am Thurs (39 hours per week)


Benefits: 26 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays, Pension Scheme & Life Assurance (after 3 months), HSF Health Plan at a reduced rate

Our client is a market leading engineering firm based near Southampton and due to their busy workload, they are looking for CNC Turner.


Role of the CNC Machinist - CNC Turner
The job involves the setting and operating of CNC turning machines producing high value components across various industries.

With the work being carried out in accordance with job card instructions and attendant stage drawings, customer specifications andin accordance with the company's quality system.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Setting and operating of CNC lathes, with an understanding of programming knowledge.
  • The ability to carefully follow procedure in terms of process through setup sheets etc
  • Be able to interpret technical drawings with a good understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances
  • Ensuring that quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • The necessary skill set to work within a team environment or individually
  • Other duties that maybe required
  • All work must be carried out in accordance with job card instructions and attendant stage drawings, customer specifications etc. and generally in accordance with the company's quality system
  • All work must be undertaken in a safe manner and in accordance with the relevant safe systems of work and generally in accordance with the company's safety policies

Skills/Experience:


  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with large components in high precision manufacturing environment
- minimum of 3 years' experience of operating Mazak control

  • Knowledge of how to machine, handle and protect all types of manufactured components
  • Experience and ability to programme, set and operate different machine tools
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings with a highlevel understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerance
  • Knowledge of modern tooling and machining techniques (desirable)
  • Programming Mazak controls (desirable)

Qualifications:


  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or a certification of similar level


You are expected to work with the minimum supervision and may be expected to deal with other duties as appropriate to your skill set and ability.
