An opportunity has arisen to work at Woodrowe House, a Specialist Residential Care Home based in Markfield, Leicestershire. We are looking for a Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Team.Purpose of Position
To work as part of a therapeutic and clinical team within a community based residential setting, which provides care, support and ongoing rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury, neurological and complex needs.
Responsibilities
To support the specialist therapeutic team in providing individualised care and treatment interventions to residents which promotes their independence and enriches their day to day lives.
To liaise and work collaboratively, with residents and under the guidance of supervisors, to support individual resident's to work towards their identified goals and therapeutic needs.
Supporting and delivering ongoing therapeutic programs through face to face, or group interventions as directed by clinical supervisors, in accordance with treatment and care plans, in order to maximise progression, independence and autonomy and to emphasis individual choice.
To report and record observations, interactions and outcomes effectively to ensure that planned - and in the moment - interventions are monitored, reviewed, graded and developed holistically and in line with resident progression and identified needs and wishes.
To support the clinical team by conducting ongoing practice activities and reinforcing therapeutic and personal goals by embedding therapeutic programs obliquely into day to day living and meaningful activities; as directed by and under the supervision of clinical supervisors.
To support the clinical team in the delivery of creative support work with residents which is stimulating and supports their specific needs.
To maintain effective communication with clinical supervisors to ensure accurate handover of information relating to individual residents therapy practice and progress towards identified treatment and rehabilitation goals.
To act at all times as an ambassador to Woodrowe Healthcare.
To ensure that all residents are safe and well protected at all times and to help ensure that the home maintains a safe environment.
To support the senior management team in their leadership of the organisation, ensuring that the company philosophy and values are maintained at all times.
To promote and maintain high standards of care and best practice; reinforcing the service values at all times; working towards achieving the best possible outcomes for residents and ensuring consultation with residents, their relatives and the care team.
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience of working with individuals with neurological and/or complex needs
A commitment to providing the highest standards of resident care
Ability to follow direction and guidance; efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner
Excellent communication and team working
Is robust and motivated to work within a busy environment and to advocate for the best interests of residents
Is proactive, positive and reliable
Works well both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrates ability to be empathetic and non-judgemental
Has an ability to work effectively within challenging or emotional situations
Salary:
£24,187.50 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
