This is an opportunity for an administrator to join the safeguarding team working directly with the safeguarding advisor for strategy meetings.

This team support the wider MCH workforce with safeguarding children and adults, however, this role with focuses on managing and coordinating the
attendance at strategy meetings for children not known to MCH services.


To provide administrative support to the Strategy meeting health representative and facilitate the administrative processes required in relation to health attendance/ representation at safeguarding strategy meetings, working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.

To ensure the service user is at the centre of everything you do delivering quality and value.


To develop and maintain information sharing and storage systems and support members of team with the collection, production and analysis of data and information required to monitor service performance.

  • Deal effectively with internal and external enquiries demonstrating excellent communication and customer care.
  • Provide and receive routine information either verbally or written, requiring tact or persuasive skills in order to overcome barriers to understanding.
  • Deal with potentially complex, sensitive or confidential enquiries from patients, staff and social care colleagues.
  • Knowledge, training and experience
  • A Levels or experience of a range of office procedures.
  • NVQ3 in business administration/customer care or equivalent.
  • RSA Stage 3 or equivalent.
  • ECDL advanced desirable.
  • Analytical and judgement skills
  • Make judgements involving facts/situations sometimes requiring analysis of information.
  • Prioritise workload and make appropriate level decisions such as when to escalate and ensure this is done in a timely manner, e.g. telephone messages from staff/patients.
  • Planning and organisational skills
  • Organise and allocate work, tasks or activities.
  • Manage diaries and plan meetings with internal and external partners.
  • Work flexibly to maintain cover within the service/organisation.
  • Produce and maintain effective systems to ensure the service operates efficiently, e.g.
planning appointments, time management, patient transport, and maintaining filing systems.


  • Physical skills
  • Advanced keyboard skills for regular use of computer systems.
  • Use office equipment, e.g. transcription equipment.
  • Responsibility for patient/client care
  • Provide nonclinical advice and information to MCH staff and social care colleagues either face to face, over the telephone or by other means.
  • Consistently treats others with courtesy, respect and makes them feel valued.
  • Responsibility for policy and service development implementation
  • Responsible for ensuring that organisational policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented.
  • Contributes to changes and updates of policies / procedures in own area of work.
  • Responsibilities for financial and physical resources
  • Maybe required to issue/take responsibility for equipment used by self and others.
  • Responsibilities for human resources (HR)
Supervise/train less experienced employees such as lower bands, apprentices or volunteers


  • Responsibilities for information resources
  • Create or format databases / spread sheets / publications utilising appropriate IT systems.
  • Transcribing/copy typing information provided by others.
  • Formal Minute taking.
  • Management of information either electronic or paperbased.
