This role is for every Saturday contracted to 30 hours per month on average.

We can also offer Zero-Hours contracts for more flexibility.

This exciting opportunity will be based at Our Place School.
Our Place School is a bespoke education facility that if focused on providing individual educational requirements for our residents.

Our teams are committed to providing the best quality of care and support to children and young people enabling them to reach their full potential.

The Short breaks Assistant will be flexible in their approach and put the needs of the children and young people that they support within the Short Breaks provision as priority.

Their accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

• To support the delivery of activities for children and young people with SEN, during
  school holidays and weekends within a Short Breaks provision.
• To work towards set targets and outcomes specified within Education Health Care Plans.
• To provide appropriate and safe environments for all activity sessions both onsite and offsite.

Skills Required:

• Have a clear understanding of their responsibility to make the safeguarding of our young people a priority.
• The ability to build a rapport and develop relationships with the young people.
• The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Work Experience & Knowledge:

• Experience of working with people/children with severe learning difficulties and or challenging behaviours.
• Ability to work during the summer holidays and evenings
  (essential)

Qualifications:

• Qualification (or working towards) in the education or childcare field.
• Academic or vocational qualification in additional areas e.g. Music, Art, Forest School
