INTRODUCTON TO WHITEHEAD-ROSS EDUCATION AND CONSULTING
Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting (WREC) is an education and social welfare organisation. Founded in 2012, we deliver a variety of high-quality skills-related programmes and social services provision.

Our programmes include support for unemployed individuals to retrain and secure jobs, vocational training programmes, adult education and social services provision such as support for families who have children with disabilities and parenting support.

With a team of 79 staff, we supported 1,200 individuals across our programmes in 2020/2021 in South Wales, Dorset, Wiltshire and Sussex.

Our existing clients include five local authorities, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Education & Skills Funding Agency.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting [WREC] is pleased to be delivering "The Together with Parents" service, supporting the outcomes for the Early Help and Preventative Services by enabling families to become more resilient, to have better emotional health, health and wellbeing and to develop more robust local support systems around them.

WREC will support parents and carers of children and young people (< 25 years) currently on neurodevelopmental pathways as well as families being considered for a pathway referral to develop coping strategies, manage family life and the needs of each family member.

Utilising available resources, peer support and mobilising Parent Volunteers, families will become more resilient, have better emotional health, health, and wellbeing, and have the skills to develop more robust local support systems around them.

The service will be facilitated by Facilitators (with lived experience) and Parent Volunteers, placing lived experience at the heart of all activity, building resilience and developing self-help strategies amongst fellow parents.

WREC will deliver the following offer throughout Kent [blended face to face and virtual]:

  • 1:1 Support Sessions with parents and carers.
  • Workshops focusing on key shared family issues, e.g., sleep.
  • Selfhelp parent/carer Peer Support Groups.
  • Evidencebased programmes (Cygnet and Incredible Years)
  • Area Information events in partnership with Kent & Medway CCG
  • Signposting to supporting materials such as videos, books, etc.
  • Jointly planned Information Events
  • Understanding Autism and ADHD.
As a Facilitator, you will be highly motivated, innovative, and creative with a real passion to achieve change. You'll be a strong advocate for parents/carers. You'll also seek opportunities for parents/carers to be involved in the design, delivery, and evaluation of services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
You will have your own caseload of families and be responsible for:

  • Providing 1:1 Support Sessions with parents and carers in community venue and in families' own homes.
  • Delivering workshops focusing on key shared family issues, e.g., sleep.
  • Facilitating selfhelp parent/carer Peer Support Groups.

  • Deliver support that is consistent and reliable countywide, with in-built flexibility to meet local demand.
  • Support Parent Volunteers with lived experience to strengthen and contribute to the delivery of all services within the programme.
