Description
In this role, you'll help tell Heathrow's consumer story, building excitement around passenger journeys through the airport.

You will need an eye for detail and ability to keep on top of many moving parts, with the creativity to capture attention in a crowded external environment.

You'll build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, build relationships with consumer media and have work on our consumer PR agency briefs.

Your role will involve:


  • Identifying news and stories from across the organisation spotting ad hoc and tactical media opportunities
  • Building partnerships with national journalists, consumer media outlets, and aligned brands
  • Proactively answering media queries and proactively pitching stories to media outlets
  • Identifying new opportunities for features and media coverage with airport stakeholders and third parties, including airline partners
  • Developing briefing material for company spokespeople and managing media interviews
  • Collating metrics that track press coverage for circulation across success with wider teams
  • Building excellent relationships with print, broadcast, and digital media outlets

These skills are essential:


  • Ability to think creatively to generate ideas that capture media attention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfassurance in replying to media queries and proactively selling in stories to media outlets
  • An exceptional customer first mindset with the ability to work with professionalism in sometimes highprofile circumstances

Ideally, you'll also have:


  • A background in in consumer PR, either from a PR agency or from a press office from a consumer brand.
  • Experience working on campaigns involving multiple stakeholders
  • An appreciation of the complexities of a corporate environment including handling public statements that may be scrutinised by various stakeholders such as politicians, regulators, customers, and trade unions.
